information

National Night Out is a yearlong community-building campaign aimed at increasing crime prevention awareness, lifting neighborhood spirit, and strengthening police-community partnerships.

Initiated by the National Association of Town Watch, this event brings together communities across the nation to send a powerful message against crime. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office has been actively participating in National Night Out annually. The event typically features activities, demonstrations, and information sessions focused on crime prevention and community safety. It serves as a platform for residents to interact with law enforcement officers and learn about available resources.

Participants will learn about crime prevention strategies, the importance of community involvement, and how to initiate or join Neighborhood Community Watch groups. National Night Out in Tangipahoa Parish aims to achieve several key objectives:

  • Heighten crime prevention awareness among residents
  • Encourage support and participation in local anti-crime programs
  • Strengthen neighborhood bonds and police-community partnerships
